Event can be conduit to scholarships.

April 9, 2014 - In his fourth Unsigned Seniors and JUCO/Transfer Showcase for College Coaches, Gary Hughes and his group are servicing a need - finding college homes for those with no scholarships. This year the Showcase is embracing the entire gamut of available players, those in high school and college.

At Pip Moyer Recreation Center (273 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis, MD), college coaches will evaluate the young men. For the record these professionals will hail from D2, D3, NAIA and junior colleges. Their brotheren who can't make it can access the proceedings via videotape.

The schedule follows:

9a - 12p - Unsigned high school Seniors
1p - 4p - College transfers/JUCO transfers

Cost is $50 per attendee. Hughes can be contacted at 240.398.4697 for more details. The website Startin5.org has information on the organization.

Hughes and Starting 5 have a track record of providing a vehicle for basketball players to garner scholarships. Those in need would be wise to take advantage.
