B'More vs PG was a treat.

November 26, 2013 - Last week St. Frances (MD) traveled down 295 to scrimmage Duval, a rare Baltimore - PG County match up. Duval was without it's star guard Mike Cunningham, but nevertheless showed things are bright for that PG 4A classification school. Saint Frances was well, one of the best teams in either DC or B'More.

Following are some of the participating players:

Jared Hamilton - 6'4", 210 pound senior swingman, SFA - A transfer from DeMatha Catholic (MD), Hamilton will be called upon to do some of everything for the Panthers, including defend, score and pass. Right now, he's more of a slasher, though he can shoot. Ball handling is being focused on for development.

Originally from North Carolina, Hamilton owns a 3.2 GPA, and is getting interest from Loyola, Lehigh, Abilene Christian and Shepherd, the last school being on him hardest at this point.

He's a sleeper.

Dequan 'Day-Day' Bracey defending the ball.

Dequan Bracey -5'10", 155 pound sophomore point guard, SFA - Think floor general when 'Day-Day' Bracey's name comes up, as that's what he is. Loves to drive and kick or shoot. Scores on runners and will defend. Sets tempo.
Needs to get stronger going forward, and extend his comfortable shooting range.

Greensboro may offer soon, while K State is interested, as is Mt. St. Mary's, which he visited.

Khalil Richards - 6'1", 190 pound sophomore guard, SFA - Richards does some of everything, and plays with a certain force. Has worked very hard on his shooting range over the summer. Will defend and rebound.

Richards while not one-handed, can strengthen his left hand patting going forward. Loyola and Richmond have offered Khalil, while K State may do so soon. Cornell and USC are showing interest.

Dewayne Morgan - 6'8", 210 pound senior forward, SFA - An All-American type player, Morgan is a slasher that can spot up and shoot. Is athletic and competes.

Morgan needs to work better off ball - he excels in iso situations - and continue to get stronger.

Is headed to UNLV, a great fit for him.

Ed Polite - 6'4", 190 pound junior swingman, Duval - Polite has received interest from St. Peters, Wagner, VCU and Delaware, based on his position change; Ed is moving from power forward to swingman. Based on his recent skill development it's coming along nicely, as he can now attack off the face up fairly confidently.

Polite knows he must get better changing speeds when driving, and "I have to slide my feet faster" defensively on the perimeter. Nevertheless, he's a solid defender, one who will mix it up.
