B'Mo player will not be a Huskie.
March 7, 2010 – Baltimore’s Cleveland Melvin, a 6’8” forward had previously determined last fall UConn would be his college home. Things have changed, as the 19 point, seven rebound performer at Notre Dame Prep has reopened his recruitment. “Basically he wants to be a four/three man, not a four/ five man” shared Melvin’s travel team coach, Cecil Kirk’s long time steward, Anthony Lewis. “They wanted him to be a four man”. For clarification, a ‘three’ is a small forward, ‘four’ indicates power forward and ‘five’ stands for center.

“It won’t be a long drawn out process” shared Lewis of when his young charge will decide. Other colleges are sure to become involved. Why would they pursue Melvin? “He’s James White”, the former DC area phenom, opined Lewis, when talking about Melvin’s athletic ability. “But he’s a better shooter and better scorer”. Add a tough player known for not backing down to anyone. Stay tuned to where Melvin attends school. He’s a diamond in the rough.
