Lake Braddock pounds TC Williams.

January 16, 2014 - Tuesday evening Lake Braddock (VA) strolled into T.C. Williams (VA) in contention for the Virginia Conference 7 lead. Most in attendance thought the home team would fall, and they did, as Lake Braddock (8-2, 3-1) blasted their fellow conference member Titans (0-10, 0-5) 85-49.

The Bruins went up 12-0, finished the half leading 42-20 at the half. TC Williams did muster a slight run, closing 24-17, using a press and matchup zone to create turnovers and resultant run-outs. Lake Braddock responded with a flex-like offensive formation spreading the zone.

Will Gregoritis, working around the cup.

Senior guard John Nice led all scorers with 24 points, freshman guard Corey Pelham logged 16 points and a pair of junior forwards, Reagan Jones and A J Alexander dropped 11 and 10 point respectively for Lake Braddock.

Senior guard John Chandler led TC with 15 points. The Titans, who didn't share the ball well against Lake Braddock - who did the opposite - are last in Conference 7 standings.

TC Williams travels to Lee tomorrow at 730p. Lake Braddock host South County, same time, same day. The Bruins are a half game behind South County in Conference 7 action.

Player Updates:

John Nice, 6'3", 170 lb senior guard/forward, Lake Braddock - Nice can hit open shots, plays well under structure and competes. Needs to create his shot more effectively. Has not collegiate looks.

Will Gregoritis, 6'7", 205 lb senior forward, Lake Braddock - An good passer that effectively pushes the rock, Gregoritis may not be Lake Braddock's best prospect, but is it's most important player, averaging 15.3 points, finding teammates and competing. Must get better with separation moves and shooting from deep, plus guarding in space. Will also score around the tin, including via running hooks.

Gregoritis is getting DIII looks, including from Eastern Mennonite, Gettysburg and MIT.
