Exposure, possibly leading to high school and college scholarships are on tap.

February 14, 2014 - Pre-high school basketball has exploded for girls, with the Fairfax Stars standing as one of the DMV's best organizations for providing young ladies exposure. Next week, girls grades 5th-8th will benefit from their work.

The Fairfax Stars have long been a top AAU outfit (FairfaxStars.org).

Sunday, February 23, 2014 between 9a - 12p, the Fairfax Stars will hold their Girls Evaluation Camp. Thirty girls will be put through paces by a host of basketball professionals, including Keith Brown, former Georgetown women's basketball coach, the Fairfax Stars' Executive Director and Nike Elite Coach Aggie McCormick, Nike/Sparq trainer Tim Valentine plus Sudan Ellington and Wallace Lee, a skills development and Strength and Conditioning trainer, respectively. Add Bob Dix, the Fairfax Stars' 15u coach, Anthony Mercer, Director of Total Skills Basketball Camps along with George Robinson, former pro player, amongst others to the mix.

Cost is $75 per athlete, and includes a tee shirt. Only 30 girls each age grouping will be accepted, so act immediately. The site is TBD.

Click here for the registration form (Word doc), which along with payment to the Fairfax Stars should be mailed to 2801 Glade Vale Way, Vienna, VA, 22181. On-line payment provision can be achieved via Http://www.fairfaxstars.org/shopsite_sc/.
