Recruiters who weren't there, missed out.

December 10, 2015 - These guys were amongst many players who stood out during last weekend's DMVElite Buffalo Wild Wings Tip Off. For game recaps, click here.

For the record, recruiters from Delaware State, George Mason, Montgomery County CC and Texas Corpus Christi were in the house, Sunday.

Kaleaf Tate - 6'1", 165 lb, Class of 2017 G, Cesar Chavez (DC) - A dead eye shooter, Tate scored 22 points spotting up, pulling up and fast breaks, while pulling down five rebounds. Is an improved finisher and decision maker - recognizes time/score/situation. A great example is his team up one with 10 seconds left, he could have scored via baseline, reverse layup, instead choosing to keep his dribble and initiate the offense, thereby taking more time off the clock. It was a savvy play.

UNC Greensboro, Norfolk State, Eastern Shore, Wright State, Hartford, Mount St. Mary's, VA Union and St. Francis (PA) have all shown varying levels of interest. Is under recruited.

Going forward Tate must continue his team leader and play-for-others improvement, while also getting stronger.

Jacob Long - 6'2", 180 lb, Class of 2017 G, Cesar Chavez (DC) - Strong and capable of taking bumps on both sides of the floor, Long is a penetrator who can now separate for shots. Scored 17 points and snagged six caroms.

Long is a combo guard; if he can become more of a true point, his high major stock will flourish.

Mt. St. Mary's, UMES, Robert Morris, Duquesne, VA Union, St. Peter's and Bowling Green have displayed interest. Schools are sleeping on this guy.

Jahlil Rawley - 6'3", 170 lb, Class of 2016 G, Prominence Academy (NC) - Possessing good vision (seven assists) and athletic ability, Rawley regularly finds people and finishes/block shots. His fourth quarter layup and immediate block on the other end of the floor attest to the latter. Can also rise above defenders for shots.

Rawley must get stronger, which will allow him to take bumps while dribbling; nevertheless pulled down 12 rebounds. At times his patting is sort of loose in traffic.

North Dakota has offered, while North Carolina A&T, NC Central and Central Arkansas have shown interest.

BJ Hill - 6'1", 175 lb, Class of 2017 G, Coolidge (DC) - Expect Hill to emerge in DCIAA play as a guy to be reckoned with; a former reserve, Hill has the chops to be a Coolidge go-to guy. Scored 25 points and pulled down five caroms. Can drive, shoot (including three balls), and is not afraid of the moment.

Virginia Union and Coppin State has shown interest.
Hill, a lefty, must become more of a combo guard for college and change speeds/angles on his drives.

Darryl Smith - 6'2", 175 lb Class of 2016 G, Capital Christian (MD) - A transfer from Suitland (MD), Smith is simply put a scorer, a guy that drops it in from deep, at the rim, on the break and mid-range. Poured in 19 points while shooting 6-9 from the field, including making 66.7% of his three balls.

Must make more plays for others, which will allow him to play at a higher level of college ball.

Has no college interest. That will change. Soon.
