More standout Big Shots Baltimore Certified players.

Here are a few more of the many talented players that competed in last weekend's Big Shots Baltimore Certified tournament.

Keith Shivers – 6’3”, 180 pound senior swingman, Triple Threat (17u), Wise HS (MD) – A smooth shooter who last summer worked tirelessly on his finishing ability, Shivers loves to attack on the break or pull/spot up in half court sets. Is not afraid of contact.

Must continue to work on his ball handling, allowing him to attack the cup more effectively in the half court. Last summer Shivers hit the weights, thereby increasing his finishing ability. He will continue to do so.

Howard and Morgan State have expressed interest in Shivers, who is awaiting a test score. PG Community College and Frederick CC are in the mix, as is Harcum, which scouted Shivers at Saturday’s Capital Classic All Star game. Prep schools Hargrave and Fishburne have also been in contact.

That's Shep Garner (3) and Keith Shivers (air), meeting in the lane.

Evan Fisher – 6’8”, 210 pound sophomore forward, Baltimore Elite (16u), McDonogh School (MD) – Strong with pretty good footwork, Fisher can score from mid-range on turnarounds, as well as release jump hooks with both hands. Rebounds solidly. Is mobile.

Must further his face up game, allowing him to be a face up four or power three in college.

Virginia, Maryland, Wake Forest and Miami are evaluating him.

Shep Garner – 6’2”, 184 pound sophomore guard, Team Final (16u), Roman Catholic (PA) – This combo guard can put the rock in the net, whether off of jumpers or drives. Has hit the weight room, thereby allowing him to take contact better.

Wants to become a better facilitator, thereby allowing him to be a more successful point guard in college.

Rutgers, Philly schools such as Temple, LaSalle, Villanova and Drexel have expressed interest, as have Georgetown and Virginia Tech.

Jamal Garner – 5’9”, 145 pound sophomore guard, Squash All Beefs (16u), HD Woodson (DC) – A gutsy player that competes against anyone who is in front of him; he battles and scraps with the best in his age grouping. Will also hit the open corner jumper, from mid-range to past the arc.

Garner will pat the ball, but that is where he most needs work – dribbling under pressure. Add getting stronger to his development list, as well.
