July 20, 2008 – Several days late (sorry, it’s a busy time) but here nonetheless, following is the Agent Zero Invitational 16u All Tourney team. For more coverage of that event, held recently at Hoop Magic’s pristine Chantilly, VA facility, click here. 16 and under All Tourney Team Antonio Jennifer- 6’6”, F, Jr., DC Assault, Progressive, Christian – A superb athletic slasher, Jennifer has a tremendous upside and some shooting range. Must strengthen handle and body. Mid-majors are starting to salivate.
Victor Olidipo Devin Nelson – 6’5”, F, Jr., DC Blue Devils, Good Counsel – Previously an athletic, undersized power forward, Nelson is now a bouncy three man that can bang. Shooting range is his next step. Victor Olidipo – 6’3”, G, Jr., DC Triple Threat, DeMatha – One of the best players in the Agent Zero Invitational, Olidipo has skyrocketed up the recruiting ladder, with biggies such as Providence and Oklahoma recently offering, added to the likes of Maryland, George Mason and James Madison. It should not be surprising given his athleticism and solid skill set. Handling in traffic and increased shooting range could make him one of the best in not only D.C., but the East going forward. Jerian Grant – 6’4”, G, Jr., DC Triple Threat – DeMatha – A skilled shooting guard, Jerian is also becoming a household name in recruiting circles, with VA Tech, George Mason and others like BC, VCU, and Pitt long pursuing him, while Providence, Maryland, Oklahoma, and UNC Greensboro have offered. Improving his strength and toughness will make him even more highly desired. Markee Mazyck – 6’5”, F/G, Jr., DC Triple Threat – Undecided – Previously unknown, Mazyck is that no longer; a strong swingman who is probably more at home in the paint offensively, Markee utilizes smooth footwork to attack the cup – frequently he’ll receive the ball, open up, and within two efficient steps be at the cup. Recruitment has just started for Mazyck, so expect with more shooting range him to be a solid mid to high major recruit.
Markee Mazyck Antonio Butler – 6’4”, F/G., Jr., South County – After receiving a tip, this writer couldn’t keep butler off this list, as the sleeper-no-longer just makes plays. Sure he can improve his jumper, and sure his patting ability needs to further develop, but Butler has a motor and heart that allows him to score and defend in the open floor and half court. Rodney Glasgow – 5’9”, G, Jr., Good
Counsel – Capable of setting up teammates and getting to the rack,
Glasgow is a fire plug point guard that makes others better. Very quick
and aggressive, Rodney could benefit from a better stop and pop game,
with would open up his attack.
